Part of the publication of the 2012 VALEO Annual Report for which I did a 3 weeks world tour assignment.

Black Snow

Coming from Africa, chased out of Libya, they shored in Lampedusa like many others but they were then displaced to the alpine mountains of Italy in the Val Camonica. There, in the territory of the Lega Nord, the far right xenophobic party of Umberto Bossi, an association help them through a micro integration initiative. They stay by group of 5 in small villages in the valley and get use to their new life. With the hope to get italian ID at the next spring.

The project “SME Africa” (Small & Medium Entreprises in Africa) aim at giving a new vision of the continent through some companies, created and/or run by africans.. above all present a visual overview of the impacts this entreprises have on life around them ( infrastructure, job creation, change in living conditions, cultural shift, …). It mix the production of photography series, video content, sound capture, and analytical contents produced by specialists of Africa and Impact analysis. Madgermanes

At Mozambic independance, the communist party took over and about 20.000 young people went to live and work in East Germany. There they discovered the cold and the communism. After the Berlin's wall fall, they had to go back but the left over of their salary, up to $18.000 for some of them, was not paid by the Mozambican government. Since then, for 25 years now, teh Madgermanes as they call them, demonstrate in a public square of Maputo the capitale. Some of them openend for me the Souvenir album they had during their East Germany period.
